Amaco V-361 Jet Black is the deepest and most stable black in the Velvet series. It is a top-notch Underglaze that maintains its absolute intensity from low temperatures up to Cone 10 (1300°C), without altering its hue.

It is the ideal choice for artists who require precision in details, strong contours and absolute coverage that does not "break" during baking.

Application Instructions

Coverage: Apply 3 coats for a completely opaque and uniform black.

Techniques: Top choice for sgraffito on light-colored clays, as the color remains stable without "running".

Mixing: Can be mixed with V-360 White to create a huge range of gray shades.

Features

Texture: Velvet matte if not covered with a glaze.

Versatility: Can be applied to wet clay (leather hard), dry clay or bisque.

Result: With the addition of clear glaze, the black becomes even deeper and acquires an intense shine.

Safety: AP Non-Toxic and Lead-free (Food Safe with the addition of appropriate clear glaze).

Technical Data

Firing Temperature: Cone 05 to Cone 10 (1000°C – 1300°C).

Form: Ready-to-use liquid paint.

Tips from the studio

Jet Black is the 'black of blacks'. Inwhite clay PRAF, creates the most classic and strongest contrast you can find in ceramics.

Pro Tip: If you want an effect reminiscent of Indian ink, use it for fine lines with a very fine brush on bisque and seal it with CLAS21004.
